Getting around outdoors:

The open air museum has gravelled roads, the City square is cobbled.

Disabled visitors:

Jamtli continuously works to improve accessibility. The following resources are at the visitors’ disposal:
 
- Wheelchairs and walking frames
- Portable ramps
- Portable neck loops for the CD-guides
- Neck loops for the guided visits
- Hearing loops in the Rentzhog Auditorium
- Headlamps

For everybody’s well-being, please note:

Parking:
The open air grounds are car free during the Historyland season and during special events. A parking lot is situated near the entrance. (See map below)

Barbecue:
Barbecue and similar activities are allowed only with special permission.


Smoking:
Smoking is not allowed in the museum or in the historical buildings and milieus.

Camping:
Camping is prohibited.

Photography:
To take photographs or record videos indoors is only allowed at the entrance level and in the main exhibition hall downstairs.

Pets:
Dogs and other pets are allowed outdoors. Pets must be leashed at all times. During the Historyland-season, dogs are not allowed to enter Fäbodvallen (The Mountain Farm), as they might disturb Jamtli’s animals.

Food
Eating and drinking is allowed outdoors or in designated spaces.


General:
Bags, backpacks, umbrellas etc. are not allowed in the exhibitions. Lockers are at the visitors’ disposal in the entrance hall.

Jamtli is child friendly, but please do not leave children alone. There is water, animals and fragile items. The adults are responsible for the children not hurting themselves or damaging anything.

How to get here

Jamtli is situated right outside central Östersund. A walk from Stora Torget takes about 10 minutes. Bus nr 2 (Lugnvik) departs from Kyrkgatan in the town centre and stops at Jamtli. A parking lot is situated 50 meters from the entrance.
